APC will win 2026 Osun guber election – Omoworare

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo

A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Babajide Omoworare, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.

Speaking at the 6th edition of the Yoruba Summit held in Osogbo, Osun State, for the advancement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term, Omoworare said, “In 2026, the electorate will rate the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke, and they will do that by ballot.”

Omoworare, one of the leading gubernatorial aspirants in the Osun APC, attributed the potential defeat of Adeleke’s government to what he described as underperformance despite increased allocations resulting from President Tinubu’s reforms.

He lamented that many governors, including Adeleke, have failed to utilize the increased funding to deliver the dividends of democracy. He cited a nearly 300% increase in allocation to Osun State, which he claimed has not been reflected in the lives of the people.

Omoworare urged stakeholders within the party to work assiduously to mobilize youths and new voters in support of the APC to achieve victory in 2026.

He said, “We know how much Osun State is receiving now—there is almost a 300% increase compared to before, and it is not reflecting on the streets or on the faces of the people. We should vote out any government that is not using the money well. The state has never had it this good; this is the best allocation from the federal government to the states.

“APC will win the 2026 gubernatorial election. What we need is cooperation, collaboration, and coordination. We are on ground here in Osun State; we just need to come together for victory.

“Osun State people do not want charlatans in power. They want a hardworking leader who understands the value of everything. I will emerge as the candidate of the party, and I will lead our party to victory by the help of God and all the stakeholders.”
