BREAKING! Defection Diplomacy: Kefas, APC National Chairman, hold crucial talks with Tinubu
By Kunle Sanni-
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, and Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, are currently meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Governor Kefas, who arrived at the State House at about 1:30 p.m. on Monday, was received by senior officials before proceeding to a closed-door session with the President. Yilwatda arrived shortly after at about 2:25 p.m.
The visit marks Kefas’ first major engagement with President Tinubu since his recent defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC last month.
Kefas had been scheduled to be formally received by the APC national leadership on November 19 but suspended the ceremony, describing the event as inappropriate in light of the “deeply troubling” abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State.
He said it would be “insensitive” and “morally wrong” to hold a political celebration while families in Kebbi were in mourning.
