Nwabali gets NFF’s N20 million support fund for parents’ burial

Augustine Eguavoen, Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has delivered a support fund of N20 million to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to assist with the burial arrangements for his late parents.
The gesture, coming directly from the NFF, is aimed at easing the emotional and financial burden on the shot-stopper during this deeply personal and sorrowful period.
Nwabali, who has earned admiration from fans nationwide for his stellar performances with the Super Eagles, is currently mourning the loss of both parents.
The support has been widely described as commendable and a reflection of the football community’s unity and compassion during times of grief.
Eguavoen, representing the NFF, personally ensured the delivery of the fund — a move that has drawn praise across sporting and public circles.
Many have lauded the NFF’s prompt response and care for its players beyond the pitch, describing it as a powerful reminder that the Super Eagles are not just a team but a family.
The burial ceremony begins on Thursday, June 5, with a service of songs, and will be rounded off on Saturday with the lying in state, interment, other funeral rites, and entertainment.
