Ondo: Action Alliance collapses into APC

By Boye Oyeyemi –

The entire structure of the Action Alliance (AA) in Ondo State, led by its former chairman and 2024 governorship candidate, Comrade Fred Akinuli, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection, which took place in Akure, was witnessed by top APC leaders, including the State Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, and other stakeholders of the party.

While receiving the new members, Adetimehin described the APC as a progressive family open to all who share its vision. He urged the defectors to strengthen the party at the grassroots and contribute to its growth.

“APC is a progressive and welfarist party. We are one united family, and we are always open to people of good intentions who are ready to work for the success of the party and the growth of our state,” he said.

Representing the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Hon. Olumuyiwa Asagunla, expressed confidence that Ondo would deliver over 90 per cent of votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next presidential election.

Akinuli said the defection marked a major milestone in his 20-year political career and was influenced by his recent appointment as Deputy Director-General of the Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT).

Pastor Olumide Obadele, Director-General of the PNT, commended the APC leadership for its unity and pledged that the network would mobilise over one million votes for the party in future elections.
