The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday won the 2025 Unity Cup after defeating the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica 5–4 on penalties, following a 2–2 draw at full time.

Debutant Chrisantus Uche fired home the winning penalty for Nigeria after Kelechi Iheanacho, Tolu Arokodare, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Moses Simon had all converted their spot kicks. Jamaica scored four penalties, with Atkinson missing their fourth attempt.

Nigeria opened the scoring after just nine minutes, when captain Moses Simon finished off a move initiated by Cyriel Dessers.

However, Jamaica’s Kaheim Dixon equalized just two minutes later.

Samuel Chukwueze put Nigeria ahead again in the 53rd minute, only for the Reggae Boyz to level once more in the 64th minute through John Russell.

With no further goals in regulation time, the final was decided by a penalty shootout.

The victory earned coach Eric Chelle and several players their first silverware with the national team.

Earlier in the day, Ghana’s Black Stars bounced back from their semifinal loss to Nigeria to defeat Trinidad and Tobago 4–0 in the third-place match.
