BREAKING: NDC adopts power rotation, reserves 2027 presidential ticket for South

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has adopted a power rotation arrangement that reserves its 2027 presidential ticket for the southern region of the country.
The decision was reached on Saturday during the party’s national convention and adopted through a resolution following a motion moved by Afam Victor and seconded by Seyi Sowumi.
As part of the power rotation formula, the party also approved the allocation of its 2031 presidential ticket to the northern region.
Party leaders said the arrangement was designed to ensure rotational representation between the North and South in future presidential contests.
At the convention, delegates also ratified all members of the party’s National Executive Committee.
The ratification followed a motion presented by Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the National Assembly.
Party officials said the decision reflects the NDC’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness and political balance within its leadership structure.
