Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Maryam Lawal, an alumna of Lagos State University (LASU), for emerging as the Best Graduating Female Student and Second Overall Best Graduating Student at the Nigerian Law School’s Call to Bar ceremony held in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the Governor, who is also the Visitor to LASU, said Lagos is proud of Lawal’s remarkable achievement as a brilliant graduate of the Faculty of Law (Common and Islamic Law) of the state-owned university.
Lawal, a Lagosian, stood out among 7,134 admitted students, clinching eight prizes, including Best Student in Corporate Law Practice, during the ceremony on July 10.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described Lawal’s success as a reaffirmation of LASU’s reputation for producing top-tier professionals across various fields.
He commended her as a shining ambassador of both LASU and Lagos State, noting that her success symbolizes personal discipline, excellence, and commitment to academic excellence.
The Governor also encouraged other students across the state to emulate her dedication, as he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening education and supporting academic excellence in Lagos.
