Ekiti Assembly backs Governor Oyebanji for second term at special plenary session

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, alongside fellow lawmakers and a large crowd of constituents, has endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office.

The endorsement came during a Special Plenary Session held at the Fajuyi Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti to mark the second anniversary of the 7th Assembly. The session, themed “Taking Parliament to the People,” was designed to promote transparency and public participation in legislative affairs.

A motion in support of Governor Oyebanji’s continued tenure was moved by Hon. Jacob Awoniyi, representing Moba Constituency 2, and seconded by Hon. Abimbola Solanke. The motion, which called for the extension of the governor’s “social contract” with the people until 2030 due to his satisfactory performance, was subjected to a voice vote. The crowd of lawmakers and constituents responded with a resounding “yes.”
