Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as “Odidiomo,” has formally joined the Allied Peoples’ Movement following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Olajide, who represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, completed his registration as a full member of the APM after filling out the party’s membership forms and concluding the required documentation process.

The development comes days after the two-term lawmaker announced his exit from the PDP, citing unresolved leadership crises within the party.

Confirming the move, his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, said the lawmaker joined the APM after extensive consultations with political associates, supporters and stakeholders across Oyo State.

According to Mustapha, the defection marks the beginning of a new political phase for the federal lawmaker as political realignments continue ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Yes, Honourable Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo has formally joined the Allied Peoples’ Movement and has successfully completed his membership registration processes. He is now a full-fledged member of the party,” Mustapha stated.

Olajide had earlier submitted his resignation letter to the PDP chairman in Ward 11, Ibadan South-West LGA, requesting that his name be removed from the party’s membership records at all levels. In the letter, he explained that his decision was influenced by developments within the party structure and his desire to continue his political aspirations in what he described as “a more inclusive and stable environment.”

Mustapha further disclosed that the lawmaker has directed his political coordinators, support groups and associates across the 33 LGAs of Oyo State to begin harmonising their structures under the APM ahead of future political activities in the state.
